HAMS and the Kamehameha Schools have joined forces to bring AMLE workshops to Hawaii. The theme of the Feb. 11-13 workshop for educators is "Energize Your Middle Level Leadership!"
The educator workshop will be followed on Feb. 14 by an exciting workshop designed specifically for student leaders and parent advocates - "Catch The New Wave of Leadership!" The Keynote speaker is Hawaii Surfer Cayla Moore (also seen in the "Soul Surfer" movie).

The Hawaii Association of Middle Schools (HAMS) is looking for authors to
submit articles for its inaugural issue of the HAMS Professional Journal to be
distributed at the 25th Annual Conference, on October 25, 2014 at Iolani School,
Two categories of submissions will be accepted: 1) Research Based, including data
collection and reporting, and 2) Practitioner Based, highlighting best practices for
middle level learners. Submission guidelines for each format are included in this
document, and are based on the Association for Middle Level Education’s
(AMLE.org) Writer’s Guidelines.
